RESEARCH PROJECTS IN FACULTY OF APPLIED AND CREATIVE ARTS

Research is any systematic activity that deals directly with the advancement of knowledge through scholarly, scientific and creative activities. This includes works of discovery, interpretation or application of knowledge which are discussed with or evaluated by the wider community of academic peers. These activities are anticipated to contribute toward the discoveries of knowledge advancement as well as wealth creation and nation building. A university research project refers to any project under the responsibility or supervision of the university researchers. This includes projects with or without internal or external funding. The research comprises of but not limited to the following: fundamental, experimental, exploratory or applied and prototype.

To sustain the fast-growing of research activities within the Faculty, the management has identified certain niche-areas that need to be grouped in order to narrow the gaps between UNIMAS and the community. UNIMAS research niche areas:

  • (i) Biodiversity and Environmental Conservation;
  • (ii) Sustainable Community Transformation and
  • (iii) Information, Communication and Creative Technology.

Research Grants

UNIMAS Grants

Research grants funding offered by UNIMAS and placed under the care of Research and Innovation Centre (RIMC) or UNIMAS Innovation. The creation and establishment of these research grants are to assist the young and novice researchers as well as established research groups with their research activities, create additional financial resources to assist research activities, to strengthen research groups’ research activities in the areas of priorities and to build critical mass in supporting the implementation of selected projects. Thus, the UNIMAS research grants contributes towards increasing the number of Principle Investigator (PI) and the increment PhD students in UNIMAS, strengthens the university’s R&D agenda of achieving the Comprehensive and Research University status, enhances research publications in high impact journals and expedites the development of R&D products that have potential for commercialization as a whole.

KPT Grants

Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) or Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (KPT) Research Grants are research grants offered and awarded by Ministry of Higher Education to researchers in public and private institutions of higher education. The research projects/programs provided comprises of but not limited to the following: fundamental, experimental, exploratory or applied and prototype depending on the different schemes and other schemes made available and in force from time to time. Through research projects to be carried out, the number of human capital and the number of research findings will be increased, this in turn will contribute to national development in the investigation.
