PETRONAS-P. Ramlee Chair Symposium 2025

The PETRONAS Chair – P. Ramlee Symposium is one of the research and development initiatives for FSGK academic members, which has been held since 2023 with the aim of recognizing and promoting creative and innovative efforts in a scholarly manner by academic and researchers, including postgraduate students and faculty alumni. This year, the symposium will be held on 24 and 25 September 2025 at 56 Hotel, Jalan Tun Jugah, Kuching.

The main objectives of this symposium are to:
i. Encourage research and scholarly discussions among academics and students related to cultural heritage in Sarawak through innovative and impactful creative and applied arts research.
ii. Provide a collaborative platform for knowledge exchange, book chapter writing, and the publication of high-quality academic works based on creative and applied arts research.
iii. Sustain Sarawak's cultural heritage through creative and applied research approaches that support conservation, community empowerment, and the development of knowledge and innovation based on local culture.

The two-day event during the PETRONAS Chair – P. Ramlee Symposium will consist of:
i. Oral presentations of research findings.
ii. Publication of research outcomes in the form of book chapters, to be compiled into a research book.
